NEH RHODE ISLAND

In 2000, Rob Barletta formed a six-team league known as Northeast Elite Hockey. This league was designed to bring out the best in each player involved. The 88/89 NEH division plays exclusively out of the Canton Sportsplex in Canton, MA and the initial season has been tremendously successful. The NEH 88/89 (Massachusetts) division will be expanding to eight-teams and will continue to be based at the Sportsplex. A further expansion of the league will be made into the state of Rhode Island.

The NEH RHODE ISLAND 88/89 division will consist of six-teams which will play exclusively out of the Rhode Island Sports Center. Rob has hired Gregg Polak as director of Northeast Elite Hockey of Rhode Island. Greg has an extensive background in the game of hockey playing at Northeastern University being drafted in the 4th round by the NJ Devils before his career was cut short by injury. Greg is presently head coach at North Smithfield High School.

The goal of NEH is to ensure each player learns and enjoys the game of hockey. Each coach hired by NEH will be trained for 15 hours prior to the beginning of the season.

The NEH RHODE ISLAND League will be using the same practice, practice, practice attitude. Each player will not only play in 30 competitive games, they will also get 30 full sheet practices, 30 half sheet practices, 30 skills sessions, and 10 off-ice conditioning sessions.

Rob Barletta’s Hockey School will be running the 30 on-ice skills sessions and 10 off-ice conditioning sessions for the NEH.
